Reference W199/17 Hours 30 Closing Date 19 January 2018 Notes 6 month paid work placement (NMW) Pay rate is the national minimum wage We are are offering an exciting opportunity to undertake 6 month paid work placement on our Training for Employment Programme, as an Environment Assistant with WDH. To be eligible you need to be 19 years old or over, registered as living within a WDH property, and currently unemployed. The main work is building fencing on WDH estates; however, other opportunities may be available in other outdoor environmental work areas, such as care taking and landscaping. You will report to the site supervisor and be provided with full training to remove and erect fencing at WDH properties across the district. A key part of the role will involve loading and unloading, heavy lifting, digging and safe operation of hand tools. You will work as part of a team delivering high standards of customer service whilst adhering to risk assessments and method statements. There are no formal qualification requirements for these roles however; we ask that you have basic literacy skills as these will be required to allow you to complete the required training. As there will be a lot of heavy lifting, and working outdoors in all weathers, we ask that you are physically fit. As part of the selection process applicants are required to attend an Assessment Day and complete a four-week Sector Based Work Academy and at which point your training will commence.
